Yellow Ostrich - Whale

Man I heard this song on an NPR playlist the other day. I was hoping there was a cool video and luckily there was. This song definitely goes on repeat for me. Also Yellow Ostrich reminds me of a young Sufjan Stevens.

Goldfish - We Come Together

Goldfish is an electronic/dance group from Cape Town, South Africa. They remind me a lot of Basement Jaxx. I was very impressed with their video.

II Volo - 'O Sole Mio

I found the Italian Jonas Brothers and they are pretty good. The guy with glasses is dreamy.

Starting Six - On Me

I do not think there is a group better than Starting Six at making party music. Who would have thought that six guys from Berkley would know how to get down. Check out "Thirsty" and "Paper Planes" if you are interested in more of their stuff.

The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist

The Avalanches is always a great group to listen to.

Red Fang - Wires

Red Fang's video was very entertaining and I think that more than anything made me like the song. So other than these guys I haven't listened to anyone new lately. Instead I'll just share a couple old favorites.

Cloud Surfing

So now that finals are over I will begin posting again. Thought I would start off with this cool cloud surfing video I saw.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Belong

There's something nostalgic about their sound. This song takes me back to when I could respect the smashing pumpkins. Haven't heard much else form them but this song caught my attention.

Steven A. Clark - Super Hero

So I realize that I'm starting to write a lot more in these posts. I don't know if that will be a regular thing but for now I guess I really want to emphasize how much I'm liking these artists. Anyways, to cap off the "PBR&B" music I leave you with Steven A. Clark. Similar feel to both The Weeknd and Frank Ocean only he has less publicity. Don't sleep on this guy.

Listen to his entire EP Stripes HERE

The Weeknd - The Party & The After Party

The Weeknd is a Canadian R&B group that has been gaining popularity over the last couple months. I was definitely feeling their EP House of Balloons when it released a while back and thought it would be good to post this. The Weeknd is definitely deserves a couple listens.

Frank Ocean - Swim Good

This weekend's posts are all going to be R&B and more specifically the new "PBR&B" artist. PBR&B because the idea is that the music is being made for or by hipsters. It's not necessarily true but anything coming out of this genre right now is definitely worth listening. Unfortunately this sound will probably be mass produced soon so enjoy it now while it's fresh. I'll start it off with Frank Ocean who is an OFWGKTA affiliate.
